Philippa Waller – Community Outreach Adviser
I started working at Reach in July 2019. Whilst I am very new to this role I have already had the opportunity to meet a lot of new people and offer support with a wide range of needs which I have really enjoyed.
I have always loved working with people in the community.  I helped set up a toddler group and after school club on an estate in North London in my early 20s and then worked for the Homeless Persons Unit in 2003 and in Social Care at the London Borough of Barnet from 2004-2013.  Whilst there I qualified with a Masters in Social Work. I then worked for Coram Cambridgeshire Adoption until July 2019 before moving to Reach. A significant number of the families that I have worked with over the years have been hugely impacted by debts, cuts and challenges accessing what they are entitled to and I have seen the detrimental impact on them and their family and the stress that this can cause. I therefore really welcome the opportunity to be able to offer people practical support in regards to this.
I have been married for 12 years and am the mum of two boys. Until taking on my current job I helped run Jellybeans toddler group at Linton Free Church. I really enjoy baking, particularly breads and pastries. Since having my boys I have also learnt a lot about dinosaurs and enjoy fossil hunting.
